On September 21-22, 2024, the Econox Laos team conducted a training session for young environmental journalists co-supported by the SCP Lao project.

The session featured notable guests and engaging topics. Mr. Souphaksone Silaphet, a foreign language journalist from National Television, shared his real-world experiences in journalism. Additionally, Ms. Valy Phommachak from Econews Laos highlighted the importance of current media, biodiversity, climate change, and content analysis in contemporary media. The focus was also on environmental issues, sustainability, and the media’s connection to these topics.

During the training, participants engaged in group activities to collaboratively analyze various types of media and content across online platforms. They also identified and discussed environmental issues they wished to highlight, culminating in the creation of news articles.

We extend our gratitude to the guests and to Swisscontact Lao PDR for providing the meeting room and facilitating this valuable exchange opportunity for the students.
